Waxed Amaryllis Care

  • Placement

    Place indoors on a flat surface. Avoid windows, where temperature drops may affect blooming.

  • Light

    Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid direct sunlight, which may overheat the bulb and melt the wax.

  • Temperature

    Keep at room temperature, ideally between 60–70°F (15–21°C). Avoid drafts and heat sources.

  • Blooming

    Blooms typically appear within 4–8 weeks. Flowers last for a week.

Aftercare

After Flowering

Remove the stamens to prevent pollen from shortening bloom life. Remove spent blooms once flowers fade.

Reflowering

For future blooms, remove the wax and replant the bulb in soil. Plant in-ground or in a pot depending on your climate.
